Christmas 2015: Yes, I survived budgeting!

I survived the Christmas holiday! There's many presents, food and err godchildren. Haha. The good thing is I stayed on my target budget so no cray, cray moments for me. Here's the breakdown of my spending that day:

Christmas Food Amount
Bread 45
Onions + Baguio Beans 40
Fish 85
Breast Chicken Half Kilo 70
Spring Onions + Sili 14
Lumpia Wrapper 40
Carrots + Repolyo 48
Canton 60
Jeepney Fare Back & Forth the Wet Market 30
Ham FREE
Cheese Ball FREE
Novellino White Wine FREE
Desserts (Toblerone, Twinkies, Snickers) FREE
Total: 432

Those items labeled as free are either Christmas gift from the office or goodies from friends. Some of the dishes we prepared are stir fry noodles commonly known as pancit, ham, cheese sticks, fish soup for my dad and bread.

Too bad I didn't take a picture of it because I was too hungry munching the goodies. Haha. We only prepare a few dishes during Christmas day because most of my immediate relatives are all based in Cebu.

For my 11 Godchildren plus extras (yung mga hindi ko inaanak), I only spend about 2,172 pesos for gifts and monetary giveaways! I can say that advance planning pretty early help me to achieve this goal. Hehe.

Life lately: December 2015

Hello, viewers and readers of my blog! Yes, I'm still alive and kicking. I became silent here because I needed to handle important stuff like getting our Meralco residential connection done. Luckily, we are in the final phase and hopefully, this Saturday we will have an electricity of our own. I'll blog about my experiences and the process of getting a Meralco residential connection here in my page so stay tuned for that. I will also include how much did I spend and the stress it cost me processing papers for wiring permit at the City Hall. Haha.

I haven't received my 13th-month pay yet, which is a good thing because I will not buy things that I don't need. Especially right now that there's a lot of holiday sale at the mall. Oh, it is so tempting to buy a beautiful dress and make-up but I still have new clothes and lipsticks that I didn't use so I must control the shopping hormones in me! Haha. I heard at the office that our 13-month will be credited to our account tomorrow. So that's hooray!

I'm still experiencing a paper loss right now in the stock market. Out of 7 stocks that I've bought.  Two of them are in green while the other five are in red. I'm still hoping that the latter will eventually turn into green. I'll cross my fingers for that to come true so that I can gain more. So yeah, that's the reason of no new entry posted here. And before I forget, I want to greet all of you an advance Merry Christmas!

What about you? How do you cope up with the Christmas rush lately? What did you buy on your 13-month pay? Share your stories at the comment section below.

Out of Budget: Is this really happening?!

Hello! How have you been? As I mentioned on my previous post in which you can read here that I totally ruined my savings. It is kind of frustrating on my part because I have set an amount that I need to accomplish before this year ends.

My spending culprits are: buying lipstick from a warehouse sale, paying for my father's medicine & check up, plus college miscellaneous fees of my youngest sibling. My list of expenditure is crazy and given that situation makes me want to cry in my room like Anna in Frozen. LOL. Joke lang!
I admit that I became lazy and unconscious of my spending because of what have had happened but I need to stay on track for me to have a brighter future. Naks!

My big chunk of purchase item was when I bought an automatic blood pressure for my parents which has a retail price of 7,150 pesos.

I am lucky that I have a Mercury coupon of 357.50 off on the original price. Plus I also earned a 3% rebate from BPI amounting 203.78 pesos, therefore, I only paid 6,588.72 pesos for it. Hooray for couponing! I'm planning to buy a nebulizer soon for my mom who has asthma. But that thing can wait maybe next month. Hehe.

And now is Friday and I can't wait this day to come to an end! What about you? How's your week so far? Feel free to leave a comment below. I’d love to hear your stories!

My First Cash Dividend from EDC

This news came to me as a surprise. I was shocked and turned giddy when I read the email that I was given a cash dividend from EDC! Hooray.

Oh my gosh. Though the amount is fairly small, I am still very thankful for this blessing! As I've read too many financial blogs, I can say that I have now experienced having passive income. My money works for me and not the other way around. Hehe.

I've hadn't experience capital appreciation yet because I am still waiting for my stocks to turned green on my portfolio before I bid them goodbye. What about you? Did you receive your cash dividend or stock dividend from your investment? Share your stories below.

Birthday Plans, Savings Update & Passport Appointment!

It's now October and what I love about this month is I will be celebrating my birthday on the 20th! Yes, I am getting older but wiser. Haha.

I thank God for all the blessing that He have given me especially the wisdom that I learned through the years. My only wish is that my family and I will have a healthy mind and body. Since this is a financial blog my plan on my special day is to celebrate it with my family. I have no plans of throwing a fabulous party because I will pay for my youngest sibling's tuition fee for the upcoming second semester. Yes, education is my top priority right now. Next year, she'll be graduating from college, and I will be the happiest sissy by that time. Hooray! Ang hirap kayang magpaaral ng college. Huhu. Namumulubi talaga ako kapag may bayaran sa mga project si kapatid!

I bought a new pair of flat shoes! I fell in love with the shoes simplicity and when I tried to wore it-- it is comfortable! The only thing that I hate about the shoe is the price. It is expensive! But that's okay after all this only my second time to buy a new pair of shoes for this year.
I earned a 3% rebates from BPI because of my purchase item. Yahoo.

On the 17th, I have a passport appointment at DFA Alabang. It's my first time to get one and totally clueless of what will the process look like. Hehe.

About my savings, I ruined it! And my stocks are not doing good too. I can see green, but there are more red on my portfolio if you know what I mean. Honestly, I have two rubbish stocks on hold. I want to get rid of them when the right time comes. Of course, I still wish I can gain a little amount like 100 pesos or higher than that so let's see. I try not to keep an eye on my account because it will only give me stress. Haha.

What about you? Do you have any plans for this month of October? How's your saving? Share your comments below.

Sept. 2015: Life Updates, Stocks, Budget Plan & Achievements!

Hey, I'm back! Forgive me for my long hiatus here in my blog. I've been busy with work and other stuff at home that's why I haven't posted anything here. While I'm away here are the things that happened in my life.

The majority of my stocks in my portfolio are in red status right now. It means I am experiencing a paper loss, but that's okay. I plan to hold it for months or a year before I sell them. I'm wishing I can gain 10%-15% capital appreciation through my stocks so let's see what will happen.

When it comes to our house budget, I can say that I fail miserably in this one because I only save 18% of my salary. I know it isn't a bad thing, but it makes me sad that I didn't meet my goals. Hopefully, I can achieve 20% savings this end of the month. I'm crossing my fingers for this one!

September marks the beginning of "BER" months. I can now hear Christmas songs in our neighborhood and even at the mall! Filipino's truly loves to celebrate the yuletide season. Hehe. I know it may sound extremely frugal, but I already set a budget for my godchildren on Christmas day. Why am I planning this too early? To avoid overspending and, of course, panic buying.

What I love about this month is the achievement of my boyfriend who successfully passed his licensure exams for registered electrical engineering and master electrician on his first take. As his girlfriend, I am very proud of him. All his hard work paid off.

What about you? What are the good or bad things happened in your life lately this September? How's your financial goals? Feel free to leave your stories below.

Life lately + Savings Update

Hello, readers! Sorry, if I've been missing in action here in my blog for I have to two seminars line-up for this month. The first one is the COL Seminar (free) while the other one is Digital Marketing seminar (I paid 200 bucks for this one) which is related to my career right now. The latter event that I attended gave each attendee a certificate and there's a free meal too! I can say it is worth it because I can use the document for my job hunting next year.

For this half month of August 2015, I save more than 20% of my salary and put it into emergency funds. Yay! I also didn't go to the malls even if there's a makeup sale. Heh!

To divert my attention, I clean my closet instead. Oh boy, it was therapeutic! It's unbelievable that I have kept my old clothes way back in high school and college. Haha. Too bad those shirts and skirts won't fit me anymore. I decided to give them to my less fortunate neighbors.

I'm happy with the last two weeks of August 2015 because there's a long weekend due to a holiday that falls on Monday (Aug. 21) and Friday (Aug. 31). Yahoo! It means I can save a small amount of money because there's no work and more relaxation time at home. What about you? Do you have any plans for this upcoming long weekend?
